Danny Boyd

Obituary of Danny Ray Boyd

Danny Ray Boyd (49), resident of Lewiston, Idaho and his beloved dog Max both died May 26, 2015 near St. Maries, Idaho in a logging truck accident. Danny was born in Lewiston, Idaho December 5, 1965 to Gordon and Lynne (Young) Boyd. He grew up in Orofino along with his four siblings, attending school there and graduating from Orofino High School in 1984. Danny always had a love for old cars and was an excellent mechanic. He was always helping his sisters with oil changes and rebuilding transmissions. Danny’s mom always wanted him to be a mechanic but he didn’t want to turn something he loved to do into something he had to do. Danny owned a few classic cars over the years with his favorite one being his 1969 fastback mustang. He was very proud of that car. Danny was very loyal and hard working. He worked various jobs in automotive including NAPA and Burneel Tire Company. Dan started working in the timber industry working for many of the local logging companies and eventually ended up working in the timber mills, Konkolville mill out of Orofino and Potlatch mill in Lewiston. In 2013 Danny purchased his own logging truck and formed D B Trucking. His only Co Worker was his Dog Max whom went everywhere with Dan. Danny spent a lot of his free time doing the things that he loved with his close friend Jackson Russell and Jackson’s wife Barb. Dan and Jackson were like brothers they went hunting, fishing, snowmobiling and camping together. There was hardly a day that went by that he didn’t at least speak with Jackson on the phone. Danny is survived by his Mom Lynne Boyd of Lewiston, His 2nd mom his Aunt Jean Young of Forks, WA, his Daughter Mercy Kestner of Lewiston, his brother and sister-in-law James Boyd and Tammy Clark of Orofino his sisters and their husbands Mary and Galen Kuykendall of Orofino, Michelle and Kevin Keenan and Nichole Curtis and Brian McCammon all of Lewiston. Danny is also survived by his Aunts and Uncles, his many nieces and nephews, his many cousins and all of his friends. Danny is preceded in death by his Father Gordon Boyd, Grandmothers Stella Boyd and Nancy Duggar and his Uncle Robert (Bob) Young. Danny, as one of his friends said, was an awesome human being. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Please join us in celebrating his life at the Lewiston Community Center on June 8th, 2015 at 3:00 pm.
