Obituary of Kittie Ann Spiesman

Kittie Ann Spiesman (67) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away after a long battle with cancer on November 21, 2015. She was born to Floy and Virginia Krieter on October 27, 1948 in St. Maries, ID. Kittie attended school in St. Maries. Following high school she took a business class in Spokane, WA. On September 12, 1969 Kittie married Jim Spiesman in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Jim and Kittie moved back to St. Maries, ID with their daughter Angie, and had their daughter Dawn. Kittie stayed home and raised her girls. She also raised Akita show dogs. Kittie and Jim bought the Gem State Bar from his father Bud Spiesman. In August 1979 Kittie and Jim divorced. She worked as a bartender and a waitress at the Riverside Resort. Kittie relocated the family to Harrison, ID where she went to work for the Gateway. She and Dawn relocated to Arizona in 1988. She managed a Dunkin Donuts and retired in 1996. In her retirement she helped raise her grandchildren whom she loved very much. She returned to St. Maries in 2012. She also enjoyed sewing, crafting, reading, and loved animals. Kittie is survived by her daughters Dawn Spiesman (Jeremy Bedwell) of St. Maries and Angie Spiesman of Eureka, CA, her brother Jeff Krieter of St. Maries, her sisters Neta White of St. Maries and Carey Gay Helm of Phoenix, AZ. She is also survived by her beloved Ebony, 2 grandchildren and 7 nieces/nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Val Gene Krieter and Aubrey Krieter and sister Julia Oakes.
