Obituary of Ramona Rosemary Scully

Ramona Rosemary Scully (84) resident of St. Maries, ID, died January 5, 2015 from injuries received in an automobile accident near St. Maries. She was born June 13, 1931 to Matthew and Helen (Faulhaber) Scully at LaGrande, OR. Ramona grew up in LaGrande and attended schools there. She graduated from LaGrande High School with the Class of 1949. She went on to attended Eastern Oregon Univ. at LaGrande. In the late 1950’s, Ramona went into business with her mother and owned a hobby shop in LaGrande. They closed the business in the early 1970’s. Ramona lived in Spokane, WA in the early 1980’s. She met and became close friends with Mary Warner in 1988. They enjoyed each others company and Mary’s family became Ramona’s. They fondly referred to her as “aunt”. Ramona and Mary were very active in their church. They enjoyed gardening and hiking. They moved to property they purchased on the St. Maries River Road in 1992. In 2012, Mary took a fall and returned to Spokane to live with her family. Ramona continued to live at the home in St. Maries. Ramona was a distant relative of the founders of Sears and Roebuck Co. Ramona never married and is survived by her niece’s Helen Scully, Tracy Lewis, Marjorie Castle and Jeannie Farlow and nephews Robert Scully Jr and Steve Dukes. She is also survived by her special friend Micah Maddox of St. Maries. Ramona is also survived by numerous cousins and great nieces and nephews. Rosary will be recited Saturday, January 16, 2015 at 7:30 a.m. and Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 8:00 a.m. both at Mount St. Michael Roman Catholic Church 8500 Mount St. Michael Road, Spokane, WA.
