Obituary of Christina Marie Janson

Christina Marie Janson (64) resident of Plummer, ID passed away at Hospice House of North Idaho on June 19, 2016. She was born to Wesley and Ruth Cox on July 28, 1951 in Ione, Washington. Chris grew up in Spokane, Washington attending school there, and graduating from University High School with the class of 1969. Following high school, Chris attended Kenman Beauty School. She married Don Janson on May 23, 1970 at the family home in Spokane, Washington. The couple soon started their family having son Donald who was born on New Year’s Eve 1970. Don was stationed in Frankfurt Germany where their daughter Dee was born. While Don worked, Chris stayed home and took care of their children. In 1972 the couple returned from Germany and were stationed at Fort Lewis, Washington. The following year Don did not reenlist in the Army to return home with the family to Plummer, Idaho. In 1976 the family was completed when daughter Charlie was born. While raising her family, Chris held many waitressing jobs in and around Plummer before she became a cook. She worked at various places including the Gateway, Rocky Point, and Leo’s. Chris enrolled at North Idaho College in their nursing program. She graduated in 1992 with her LPN. Following college she went to work for Valley Vista Care Center in St. Maries. In 1996 she started working at the Benewah Medical Center finishing her career by retiring in August 2013. In her retirement Chris enjoyed reading, knitting, crocheting, embroidery, making blankets for her grandbabies, and poking all of her friends on Facebook. She was also a huge fan of the Seattle Seahawks. Chris was a spitfire that will be missed by her family and many friends whom she loved. Chris is survived by her son and daughter in-law Donald and SueAnn Janson of Plummer, ID; daughters and sons in-law Dee Janson and Jeff Allen of Plummer, ID and Charlie and Tracey Way of Plummer, Idaho. She is also survived by her brother Wes Cox of Plummer, ID; 6 grandchildren, 6 great-great grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews as well as several “adopted” adult kids. She is preceded in death by her parents and her husband Don Janson. A memorial service will be Thursday June 23, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Benewah Medical and Wellness Center Gymnasium. A gathering of family and friends to share a meal will follow.
