Obituary of Ronald Keith Hill

Ronald K. Hill (75) passed away at his home above Black Lake on December 5, 2016. He was born August 12, 1941 to Lloyd and Merna Hill in Buhl, ID. Ron grew up in Gooding, ID and graduated from Gooding High School with the class of 1959. Following high school he attended Magic Valley Christian College in Albion, ID. While attending college in 1962 he met Janie Bedal and the couple married in Boise, ID. They started a family having 4 children. In 1963 Ron graduated with a BA in Education. Ron obtained his Masters in Education from BSU in Boise, and continued his education at the University of Idaho in Moscow receiving his Education Specialist Degree. Ron’s first teaching job out of college was in Council, ID where he also coached. The family relocated to Kamiah where he taught, and then Midvale, ID where Ron’s coaching assisted the basketball team to their first State Tournament. In 1971 Ron moved to Kuna, ID where he taught, coached, became the Junior High Principal, and eventually became the Assistant Superintendent. In 1987 Ron moved to the Medimont, ID area and went to work for the Kootenai School District as their Superintendent. In 1996 he was awarded Idaho Superintendent of the year. Ron built his dream home above Black Lake around 10 years ago, and enjoyed his view and spending time on his property. After serving 23 years working for Kootenai School District, Ron officially retired in 2010. In his retirement, Ron enjoyed his horses, fishing, hunting, athletics, and the Gonzaga Bulldogs. Ron is survived by his sons Brad (Carlin) Hill of Nampa, ID, Scott Hill of Boise, ID, Troy (Heidi) Hill of Union, OR, and daughter Kelly Ingham of Caldwell, ID. Also surviving are his brother Marvin Hill of Boise, ID and 5 grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and brothers Larry Hill and Gary Hill.
