Obituary of Leila Mae Sibert

A Celebration of Life for Leila Mae Sibert On Sunday, April 16, 2017, Leila Mae Sibert, 93, passed peacefully into heaven to be with her beloved husband of 58 years, Raymond F Sibert. She left behind her family, friends, and the innumerable lives she touched as a cherished wife, mother, Calder school bus driver and the Calder Postmaster. She is survived by her daughter Barb (Paul) Struss residing in Myrtle Creek, Oregon, and son Jerry (Debbie) Sibert who reside in Tacoma, Washington, as well as her beloved family of 5 grandchildren, Martin Struss and Karrie (Jerry Brown), Valarie Struss, Doug (Michelle) Lowe, JRay (Shawnee) Sibert and 11 great-grandchildren. Her family loved and cherished Leila for her neverending willingness to give of herself with boundless love, caring and support. They take solace in her legacy of kindness, giving and peace she has left in all of them. Born in Balaton, Minnesota and she grew up in Opportunity, Washington. Here she met her high school sweetheart, Ray. They later moved to Calder, Idaho in 1946 to raise their own family. You could describe Leila as a calm and steady presence. Leila’s generous personality and professional competence earned her the love and respect of her community and church. She was a member of St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church, the National Association of Postmasters of the United States, and AARP. She led a quiet, active and full life where she enjoyed her church, family and friends, quilting and gardening. Services will be held at St. Mary Catholic Immaculate Church, on Wednesday, April 26th, please join us in a Celebration of Life for Leila, at 11:00 a.m. Interment will immediately follow at the Woodlawn Cemetery.
