Obituary of Paul Arthur Cook

Paul Arthur Cook (61) longtime resident of Fernwood, ID passed away at his home on April 23, 2017.  He was born to Miles and Joyce (Yost) Cook on August 18, 1955 in Spokane, WA.  Paul grew up in Fernwood, ID and graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 1974.

Following high school Paul worked as a firefighter, he was a logger, worked in the Cedar Mill, sold firewood, and then he worked in the Transportation Department with the State of Idaho.  He had 2 children Melissa and Doug.  Paul was injured on the job taking a big fall that forced him into retirement.  During his retirement he performed odd jobs for people and was a good mechanic, which is a trait he passed onto his son Doug.  Paul also spent a lot of time taking care of his parents.  He loved taking them on road trips and road hunts.  He had a love for muscle cars and he even owned a Baracuda and a GTO in his younger days.

Paul enjoyed snowmobiling, fishing, spending time in the woods, 4 wheeling, and teaching all of these enjoyments to his children.  He was great at wheeling and dealing and liked to bargain with people and friends.  He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and he loved his animals.

Paul is survived by his daughter Melissa Cook (Scott Thomson) of Fernwood, ID, his uncle Dick Yost of Fernwood, ID, his brother Rick (Sherry) Cook of Fernwood, ID, and 4 grandchildren.  He is preceded in death by his son Doug Cook and his parents.
