Obituary of Eve Mae Mireles
Eva Mae Mireles, known as Eve, 80, resided in Saint Maries, ID with her husband Rey Mireles. She passed away at Benewah Community Hospital on January 27th, 2025. She was born in Pocatello, Idaho to Don and Alice Hogan on February 1, 1944. She grew up in California and Idaho, eventually landing in Grants Pass, Oregon, where she raised her children and met her soulmate Rey, who was the love of her life. She was a devoted wife, and a loving mother and grandmother.
She loved to explore, whether she was driving through the mountains or fishing by the lake. She and Rey had many journeys together from spending time on their boat to building their off-grid cabin on a mountain top in Kooskia, Idaho. On one of their boat rides they took their pontoon down the river to St. Maries and found the area to be very beautiful; many years later they chose it as their place of retirement. While in Hayden, Idaho they ran a copier business, moving it with them when they relocated to Stites, Idaho. They were well known and loved there as they both became involved in their community. Eve saw no task too small, even watering the town's flowers.
She loved to cook, bake, and garden. Some of her favorite things were visiting with family, whether in person or her daily talks with her children. Eve and Rey had a wonderful relationship, and without fail, they would sit and have coffee and conversation morning and afternoon. She loved the Lord and wanted all her family to know Him.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Alice Hogan. She is survived by her husband, Rey Mireles, her children Karen Walker, Cheryl Miller, Mark Brown and Stacey Pitman. Her stepchildren, Christine Abrams, Cindy Mireles, Michael Mireles, Lisa Mireles, Kimberly Castro, Jenny Mireles, Kenny Mireles and Kathleen Busick as well as her 33 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She will be missed greatly as she was loved by her family greatly. She was interred in Woodlawn Cemetery on February 4th, 2025. A Memorial Service will be February 4, 2025 at 11:00 am at the St. Maries Assembly of God Church.
