Janet Lee Jansen (82) passed away at the Schneidmiller Hospice House on March 1, 2025. She was born to Carl Vintcenda and Hazel Hopkins on December 11, 1942, in Valley, WI. Jan was raised on her family farm where she learned love of the outdoors and gained her appreciation for hard work. After high school, Jan spent a great deal of time hiking Yellowstone. They were both avid outdoorsmen enjoying fishing, hunting, hiking, and traveling the world together in love. They conquered the Tetons and the Swiss Alps.
Once retired, Jan and Larry moved to Montana. In August of 2024 they moved to St. Maries, ID to live with their oldest daughter for care. Jan lost her beloved husband on January 20, 2025 and with that loss so heavy on her heart, she followed him to heaven just a little over a month after his passing.
