Obituary of Robert Anthony Vincent
Robert “Bob” Anthony Vincent, 73, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, passed away peacefully at Valley Vista Care Center in St. Maries, Idaho, on March 23, 2025.
Born to JD and Mercedes Vincent on July 15, 1951, in Honolulu, Hawaii, Robert was raised in Richmond, California, where he graduated from Harry Ells High School in 1969. After high school, he attended Contra Costa College and became a certified Journeyman Carpenter, working in Richmond and Tahoe on numerous projects throughout his career.
In 1978, Robert met Virginia Simcox through family, and the two quickly became inseparable. They married in New York in 1981 and made their home in Richmond, California. Robert worked for over 36 years as a proud Union Carpenter, retiring in 2007. Shortly after, he and Virginia moved to St. Maries, Idaho, to be closer to family.
Robert’s love for the outdoors was matched only by his sense of adventure. While living in Richmond, he and a friend bought 300 acres in the mountains of Red Bluff. With his exceptional carpentry skills, he helped build a cabin on the property, where the group and family spent time fishing, hiking, and enjoying the simple pleasures of life—drinks, target shooting, and good company. His love for life also extended to his hobbies, including music, concerts, going to Good Guy Car Shows, and proudly owning some collector cars over the years.
In St. Maries, life may have been a little quieter, but Robert continued to live fully. He embraced the beauty of the Idaho outdoors, spending time fishing, riding ATVs, and joining family gatherings. He made many new friends in town, often sharing a laugh or two at Joe’s Bar. Robert was a social and easygoing man, loved by everyone who met him.
Robert’s legacy of kindness, laughter, and adventure will live on in the hearts of those who were lucky enough to know him. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
Robert is survived by his wife, Virginia, of St. Maries; his children, Danielle (Olin) Vincent of San Francisco, CA, and Sean Vincent of Richmond, CA; and his grandson, Antonio Vincent of Discovery Bay, CA. He is also survived by his siblings, Patrick Vincent and Vicki (Dale) Wise of St. Maries, ID, and Johnny (Pam) Vincent of Richmond, CA, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister Tressie Brian, and nephew Erik Vincent-Mezori.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association of Idaho, Greater Idaho Chapter Office, 8324 W. Northview St. #102, Boise, ID 83704.
