Obituary of Steven George Meile

Steven George Meile (62) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at his home on March 26, 2025.  He was born to George and Edwina Meile on September 19, 1962, in Baltimore, MD.  Steven grew up in Baltimore and at the age of 13 moved to Augusta, WV where he and his dad built their family home.  Steven graduated high school in Cayton Bridge, WV in1980.

For most of Steven’s life he hung drywall for a living.  He worked for his brother Henry and various other contractors serving 27 years in the industry.  In 2004 Steven met Kelly Wilson through his daughter and a friend.  Instantly they had a connection.  The couple moved to St. Regis, MT where they made their home, and Steven went to work driving long haul truck.  After 5 years of dating, the couple married in 2009 and lived in St. Regis until 2020.

When their son graduated from high school in 2020, Steven and Kelly found property near St. Maries and relocated.  Steven built their home, and they fell in love with their property.  Sadly, an injury forced Steven into early retirement, but he kept busy around his place.  Steven enjoyed visiting with friends and family.  He was a quiet and simple man who loved his close circle of people.  He also loved his Huskies Harley Quinn and Fat Boy.  When he was able, he was a talented carpenter and a Jack of all Trades.  An avid outdoorsman he loved to hunt, fish, and ATV ride.  His property was heaven on earth.   

Steven is survived by his wife Kelly at their home near St. Maries; children Gabriel Wilson of St. Maries, Jamie (Bill) Witherel of Missouri, Heather (Andrew) Lomburge of Kansa, and Ariel Meile of Kansas; siblings Robin Betson of Florida, Kim Meile of West Virginia, and Michael (Dana) Meile of Missouri; 9 grandchildren; 1 great grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

At Steven’s request there will be no formal services.
