Kathleen “Kathy” Shelden (81) lifelong St. Maries, ID resident passed away at Kootenai Health on May 14, 2025. She was born to Robert and Margery (English) Adams on September 18, 1943, in St. Maries, ID. She was raised in St. Maries and left as an adult a couple times to live in Stanwood, WA; also, briefly living in Klawook, AK, before returning to the beautiful mountains of St. Maries, ID.
When her children were younger, Kathy stayed at home to take care of them. She loved being a mother and a home maker. She also had a very fulfilling career in Real Estate with St. Maries Realty for over 14 years. Kathy enjoyed working with the community and never met a stranger.
Kathy loved traveling the country and seeing new places with her husband Al; together they enjoyed outdoor activities including camping, boating, fishing, 4 wheeling, and their favorite huckleberry spot. She loved life, was fun loving, and was always up for any adventure. When not outdoors, Kathy enjoyed making cards, crafts, and scrapbooking.
Kathy is survived by her husband Allen at their home in St. Maries; children Dixie (Calvin) Daniels, Delyne (Darryl) Mayer, and Cory Hicks; step children Gregory Shelden, and Kimberly Berry; siblings Barbara (Doug) Smeltzer, June Adams, David (Sun) Adams, and Kim (Leslee) Adams; 10 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents, her brother Michael Adams, and stepdaughter Tracy Caufield.
A Memorial Service to celebrate Kathy’s life will be held on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 1:00 pm at the St. Maries Assembly of God Church. A gathering of family and friends to share a meal will follow.
