Sally Louise Cooper (78) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at Benewah Community Hospital surrounded by her family on May 27, 2025. She was born to Alanzo and Mary Martin on January 12, 1947. Sally grew up all around Southern Idaho and Eastern Oregon.  During high school, she moved in with her brother Joe Martin and worked at a pizza place to help support herself. She graduated from Boise High school in 1964.  

Following high school, Sally married Colin Cooper and they made their home in La Grande, Oregon where she worked and helped put Colin though college. After that they moved to British Columbia where they had Shannon and moved to Anchorage for a few years until finally settling down in Nampa, ID where Kelly was born. She worked for First Interstate Bank for a few years until finding a job in fashion for Louelles. In 1986 the family moved to Clackamas, OR where Sally went to work for Nordstroms. Sadly, Colin passed away and Sally worked a couple more years before she was able to retire in 1995. Sally met Don through mutual friends from the Elks club she frequently went to. They moved to St. Maries, ID in 2001. 

Sally loved traveling and adventure. She went on Yacht trips and traveled with her friends. Mexico was a must in the winter snow birding with her friend Marsha. Sally enjoyed taking care of her family and found joy in putting on family reunions down at Martin’s Landing. She also loved gardening and taking care of her plants and flowers. A phenomenal cook, Sally’s specialty was Mafa chicken (a family favorite) and her pretzels.  

Sally is survived by her son and daughter in-law Kelly and Linda Cooper of Spokane, WA;  daughter Shannon Cooper of St. Maries, WA; siblings Darlene (Claire) Bauer of Ontario, OR,  Barb Weise of Spokane, WA, Tom Martin of St. Maries, ID, Bill Martin of St. Maries, ID, Jack  (Patty) Martin of St. Maries, ID and Larry Martin of Spokane, WA; 3 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by both of her husbands Colin Cooper and Donald Seiler, brothers Jim Martin and Joe Martin, and nephew Donald Martin. 

A potluck gathering will be held at Martin’s Landing on Saturday July 5, 2025, at 1:00 pm. Bring your favorite dish and favorite story of Sally to share.
