Jarred L. Butler Obituary

Jarred L. Butler (42) former resident of St. Maries, ID and current resident of Spokane, WA passed away on September 8, 2025.  He was born to Bruce and Robin (Thogode-Hodgson) Butler on August 6, 1983, in Port Jervis, NY.  For most of his childhood, Jarred grew up in Matamoras, PA.  When Jarred was a sophomore, the family moved to Cataldo, ID before finding their forever home in the Benewah Valley.

Once in the Benewah Valley, Jarred spent time on his family’s farm – Heaven Hearts Farm.  He briefly attended St. Maries High School before he decided it wasn’t for him.  Jarred ended up obtaining his GED and then went to school at North Idaho College to become an electrician.  Once he became licensed, he found work in Boise, ID in the construction of manufactured homes.  On April 28, 2009, Jarred married Brandy and the couple had their daughter Isis making their home in Boise.  They later returned to St. Maries where Jarred helped on the family farm.  Although Jarred and Brandy divorced in 2016, they remained friends for Isis.

Jarred moved to Spokane and opened his electrical business named JB Electrical.  With the new construction going on in Spokane, Jarred kept busy working in new homes and apartment buildings.  A free spirit, Jarred loved to travel visiting town festivals, music festivals and barter fairs.  He also enjoyed skateboarding, attending concerts, and collecting Grateful Dead memorabilia.

Jarred is survived by his parents Bruce Butler of Melbourne, FL and Robin Hodgson of St. Maries, ID; stepfather Joe Gilroy of Mexico; children Isis Butler of St. Maries, ID and her mother Brandy Butler and Joplin Butler of Boise, ID and her mother Brianne Butler; siblings Zachary (Kaytie) Gilroy of Montana and Hunter (Jess) Gilroy of Post Falls, ID; grandmother Bonnie Lawrence of North Carolina; uncles Donald (Rose) Butler and Robert (Devony) Butler of Florida; aunts Hope Lawler of Portland, ME, Linda Butler of Stillwater, NJ, and Sandy Butler of California; numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his grandparents Frances and Richard Butler and Joseph Thogode.

There will be a memorial camping weekend at Heaven Hearts Farm to celebrate Jarred’s life on October 11 and 12. Please stop by at any time.
