Myles Alan Telford Obituary

Myles Alan Telford (60) longtime St. Maries, ID resident passed away at Benewah Community Hospital after a short but courageous battle with cancer.  He was born to Richard and Marilyn (Fletcher) Telford on January 31, 1965 in Portland, OR.  Myles attended Port Angeles High School and spent part of his younger years in the Benewah Valley. 


In 1984 Myles elisted in the U.S. Army and served over 7 years.  In that time he received his GED and became educated and served as a Sharpshooter, Hand Grenade Expert, Military Police, and Prison Guard spending time in California, Kansas, and Korea.  When Myles was honorably discharged, he returned to St. Maries and went to work for his Uncle Bill Fletcher logging and working the family farm for several years.  Myles also bartended for the Gem State and the Tekoa bar before becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant while working at the Tekoa Care Center.  It was in Tekoa, where he met the love of his life and soulmate Jamie Neal.  The couple married in 2006 and made their home in the Benewah Valley on the family’s farm.  Myles worked for the Tekoa Care Center for 8 years before going to work for Valley Vista Care Center, Northern Idaho Advanced Care Hospital, ending his career at Benewah Community Hospital.


Aside from being passionate about his career and giving the best care to his patients, Myles enjoyed a pretty simple life.  He enjoyed enjoyed a couple of Caribean cruises and playing on his iPad, specifically communicating with his friends overseas.  Get togethers with friends were some of his favorite times, whether it was dressing up and partying for an occasion or holiday, or just playing a friendly game of pool.  He also liked music of all sorts, and always knew fun facts about songs and bands.


Myles is survived by his wife Jamie at their home near St. Maries; children Jasmine Telford of Pullman, WA, Micheal Neal of Callion, AR, Miki Gaiter of The Dalles, OR, and Phillip (Addie) Neal of Boise, ID; 4 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister Emily Mills.


Military Honors will be presented for Myles on Friday, November 7, 2025 at 2:00 pm at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries, ID.  A Celebration of Life will follow at the Eagles Lodge at 3:00 pm.
