Don soon made Idaho his home, living in Pinehurst, with his wife, Mary. They had 3 children: Mary "Mimi", Earl "Slim", and Dawn "Sis". They later divorced in 1982. Don spent several years in Alaska, enjoying all the beautiful people and scenery. He married Janell Marts on August 10, 2012, and the couple moved to Fernwood, Idaho. Sadly, Janell passed away in 2017.
An avid outdoorsman, Don spent his life enjoying the outdoors fishing, hunting, and being in the woods. He also spent his time fascinating over the legendary Bigfoot and always spoke of how he was going to find it one day. Don passed away on a hunting trip with a good friend; he went out doing what he loved.
Don was preceded in death by his parents, Earl and Juanita Jones; 2 sisters, Cathy Carol and Charlene Marie; and his uncle, Bob Elders. He is survived by his stepfather, Mel Woltering; his children, Mimi, Slim, and Sis (John); multiple grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews, and great grandchildren. Don was especially fond of his nephew Robert, who was his main hunting partner and travel buddy, enjoying gun shows, trips for good deals, and lots of seafood buffets.
