Lynn Ann Koering Obituary
Lynn Ann Koering, age 55, resident of Fernwood, Idaho, passed away on May 1, 2026. She was born on August 28, 1970, in Bellingham, Washington, to Jack and Donna Jensen.
Lynn spent her younger years growing up in Redmond, Washington, where she attended Lake Washington High School, graduating with the Class of 1988. Following high school, she attended beauty school for a time before deciding her adventurous spirit was leading her elsewhere. She moved to Las Vegas and traveled with a band, embracing life and new experiences wherever they took her. Eventually, she returned home to Redmond, where her parents helped guide her into schooling and business opportunities involving resort management. Life continued to take Lynn in new directions, and she once again found herself back in Redmond. There, she cleaned beautiful homes, many owned by celebrities, and loved the stories and experiences that came from meeting people from all walks of life.
Fate stepped in when she met the love of her life, Kent Koering, at a campground in Fall City, Washington. Both were staying there for work, and what started as a chance meeting quickly became a lifelong love story. Their connection was immediate, it was love at first sight. After seven years together, they married in 1998 in a wedding lovingly orchestrated by Lynn’s mother, Donna, who famously handed them a calendar and told them to pick a date while she handled the rest. The story became one of the family’s favorite memories and a lasting joke shared with laughter over the years.
Lynn and Kent made their home in Snoqualmie, Washington, for seven years, where they raised their children together. The couple worked opposite shifts so one of them could always be home with the kids, a sacrifice they gladly made for their family. Lynn spent 17 years working in the food industry, becoming a familiar and beloved face to countless customers. She had a rare gift for remembering people, their stories, and even their favorite orders. To know Lynn was to feel remembered and important. She never met a stranger and somehow managed to make friends wherever she went.
Eventually, Lynn and Kent dreamed of a quieter life and considered moving either to Idaho or Alaska. One drive through North Idaho changed everything when they found the beautiful property near Fernwood that instantly felt like home. It became the place they planned to spend forever together, surrounded by mountains, wildlife, and the peace Lynn so deeply loved.
Lynn had a free spirit and a heart of gold. She loved attending concerts and had an incredible knowledge and appreciation of music. She especially enjoyed music trivia and could surprise just about anyone with the songs and artists she knew. She loved being outdoors and could often be found riding her side-by-side through the mountains, soaking in the beauty around her. On stormy days, she enjoyed watching movies, but reading was one of her greatest passions. She was an avid reader and especially loved the works of Stephen King.
Her yard and garden brought her endless happiness. Lynn loved planting flowers, working outside on her property, and creating beauty wherever she lived. Her kindness extended far beyond family and friends. She was the type of person who would stop to help anyone in need, often giving rides to strangers simply because she cared. She also had a special love for animals and over the years opened her heart and home to many adopted cats and dogs who became part of the family.
Above all else, Lynn will be remembered for her warmth, laughter, and genuine love for people. She lived simply, loved deeply, and left an unforgettable mark on everyone fortunate enough to know her. Though her family’s hearts are broken, they find comfort in knowing her light and kindness will continue on in the countless lives she touched.
She is survived by her loving husband Kent Koering, her children August Wells of Wenatchee, WA and Sierra Koering of Wenatchee, WA; grandchildren Gabe and Michael; siblings Wendy (Steve) Roetering of Ham Lake, MN, Jacque (Glen) Drenten of Zeeland, MI, and Anita Jensen of Long Beach, WA; numerous nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents.
Some people pass through this world quietly, but others leave warmth and light everywhere they go. Lynn was one of those rare souls whose kindness made the world feel a little more like home.
