Josh Reynolds Obituary

Josh Reynolds Obituary

Joshua David Reynolds came into this world on February 3, 1978, like a rocket and ready for takeoff. Born in Medford, Oregon, to Michele McDaniel and Charlie Reynolds, Josh quickly found his built-in childhood shenanigan partner in his older brother, Levi Reynolds.

In 1984, Charlie and Michele moved their family to St. Maries, where they joined grandparents Joyce and Ratchit Hensley, along with many other family members. Josh was fiercely loyal to his family, and the bond he shared with his cousins was inseparable. He found comfort in time spent with his grandparents and deeply respected his aunts and uncles, often turning to them throughout his life for support and guidance.

Growing up around the family-owned business, The Boat Shop, Josh lived an adventurous childhood filled with unforgettable memories alongside his “St. Maries crew” and family. Some of his favorite times included annual “Reindeer Camp” hunting trips, weekends at the drag races, large family dinners at his grandparents’ home, and cherished Christmas Eve gatherings surrounded by loved ones.

Josh attended school in St. Maries his entire life, graduating with the Class of 1996. He shared a close connection with many classmates whom he still considered his “day-one” friends and remained fiercely loyal to throughout the years. To those who knew him best, Josh was remembered as the class clown - someone with a kind heart, no judgment, and an ability to make people laugh endlessly.

After graduation, Josh and longtime partner Margo Stiles welcomed their beautiful daughter, Lexie Reynolds. Later, he began a relationship with Erika Moen, and together they welcomed two sons, Ethan and Dawson Reynolds. Josh was always proud of his children and their accomplishments. He and Erika married in 2004, and throughout their years together they built lifelong friendships and shared countless adventures with those around them.

Josh had an extraordinary talent in the boating world. After attending technical school and earning numerous certifications, he created his own business, Rocket Speed and Marine. He also competed in sprint boat racing and eventually became a fixture in the international sprint boat racing community alongside his best friend, Ron Gallagher. Many of Josh’s most exciting adventures and nine-life experiences involved Ron, who truly was his ride-or-die partner in life.

During the last few months of his life, Josh began working at Franz Bakery as a mechanical technician. He also started a new relationship with Erin, with whom he shared many laughs and adventures.

No parent should ever have to say goodbye to their child. Josh’s life was a gift to his parents, and Michele and Charlie will forever treasure the memories of their son.

Josh will be remembered for his infectious energy, fierce loyalty, and a spirit that naturally drew people to him. He leaves behind those who loved him most including his parents, Michele McDaniel (Lance) and Charlie Reynolds (Loretta); his brother, Levi Reynolds (Sarah); Erika Reynolds; and his beloved children, Lexie, Ethan, and Dawson Reynolds.

He is also survived by his uncles and aunts, Mark Reynolds (Sherrie), Randy Reynolds (Trish), Charles Jandreau, Julie Anderson, Marle Jandreau (Ron), Karla Newberry (Dave), and Christine Jandreau; along with many cousins including Chelcie Asbury (Cory), Bryna Bowman (Chad), Dan Reynolds, Matt Reynolds, Toni Anderson (Jack), Shannon Wood, Kevin Newberry, and Krista Perez (Erik).

Josh was preceded in death by his grandparents, Joyce and Ratchit Hensley, Kenny Reynolds, and Chuck Jandreau; his cousin, Erik Smit; and his uncle, Ward Anderson.

There will be a private graveside service for family members. The community is invited to Josh’s Celebration of Life on May 22, 2026, at 5:00 p.m. at the St. Maries Elk’s Lodge. The family is grateful for all the love and support the community has shown during this difficult time.
