Marlene Griffin (79) of St. Maries, ID passed away at Valley Vista Care Center on June 17, 2026.  She was born on January 13, 1947 to Lawrence and Irene Hites in Moscow, ID.

Marlene grew up in Moscow, ID and married the love of her life Larry in September of 1965 in Moscow.  She had various jobs until 1980 when she and her husband bought a cab-over semi.  They transported grain from the Palouse to Lewiston, ID.  

Later when Larry’s health started failing, the couple moved to Dixie, ID before making their permanent home in the Parkline area near St. Maries, ID in 2004.  Marlene was a simple woman who loved living a simple life.  She enjoyed spending most of her time with Larry, and they loved panning for gold.

At Marlene’s request, she will not be having services.  The family suggests memorials to either Hopes Haven, 93 Robinson Road, St. Maries, ID 83861 or to Hospice of North Idaho, 2290 W. Prairie Ave., Coeur d’ Alene, ID 83814
