Timothy John Perry passed away peacefully on July 19, 2026, at Benewah Community Hospital following a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was 73 years old.

Tim was born on April 13, 1953, in Novato, California, to Donald Perry and Patricia Welch. As a young boy, he experienced life in many parts of the country as his father's work took the family to places including New Orleans, Louisiana; Atlanta, Georgia; and Virginia. Eventually, the family returned to Novato, where Tim graduated with the Class of 1971.

Following high school, Tim immediately began the career he loved, working as an automotive mechanic. In the mid-1970s, he married Lori in Reno, Nevada, and together they made their home in Petaluma, California. Although the marriage ended after four years, Tim remained devoted to his work and continued building a respected career as a mechanic throughout California.

After settling in Napa, California, Tim fulfilled a lifelong dream by opening Perry's Auto & Marine Repair, a business that became well known for honest service and quality workmanship. He dedicated many years to serving his customers before retiring in 2016 when he closed the business.

Outside of work, Tim found his greatest enjoyment on the open road. He loved riding motorcycles and appreciated the freedom, adventure, and friendships that came with the ride. Whether working with his hands in the shop or exploring the highways of California, Tim lived life with independence, determination, and a quiet pride in a job well done.

Tim will be remembered for his strong work ethic, mechanical talents, and the lasting friendships he made throughout his life. He is survived by his children Christopher Perry and Kevin Perry, 1 grandchild, and his sisters Diane Perry and Joan Perry.  He is preceded in death by his parents.

A private graveside service has been held, and Tim was laid to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries, ID. A celebration of Tim's life for family and friends may be held at a later date in California.
