Judy Linda Lewis, a cherished daughter of God, devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, was called home on August 17, 2026, leaving behind a beautiful legacy of faith, grace, and love.

Judy was born on March 20, 1937, in Pocatello, Idaho, the fourth child of Fred William Hart and Frida Anna Reisner Hart. She spent her childhood on the family homestead in Virginia, Idaho, where the simple rhythms of farm life helped shape the woman she would become. From an early age, Judy learned the value of hard work, responsibility, and caring for others as she helped her family tend to the daily needs of the farm.

Her childhood belonged to a gentler era. Judy attended a one-room schoolhouse, where lessons were learned by the warm glow of kerosene lamps. Those humble beginnings remained a treasured part of her story and stood in lovely contrast to the elegance and refinement she carried throughout her life.

Judy graduated from Downey High School in 1957. During her final years of school, she began dating David Lewis of McCammon, Idaho, and a love story began that would span a lifetime. Following graduation, David entered the United States Air Force. On January 24, 1958, Judy and David were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Utah Temple, beginning a marriage firmly rooted in faith, devotion, and love.

Together, Judy and David were blessed with five children, four sons and one daughter—and family became one of the greatest joys of Judy’s life. She took tremendous pride in the generations that followed and treasured the blessing of watching her family grow.

Judy is lovingly remembered by her children and their spouses, Mark Lewis; Scott Lewis; Russell and Amanda Lewis; Julie and Jan Speelman; and Michael and Kristi Lewis. She also leaves behind 14 beloved grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, each of whom held a special place in her heart.

There was a quiet elegance about Judy that could be seen in so many parts of her life. She had a wonderful appreciation for beautiful things, particularly antiques and the stories they carried. A gifted seamstress, she created with patience and skill, and her remarkable penmanship reflected the same care and grace she brought to everything she did.

Yet Judy's greatest beauty was found not in the things she created or admired, but in the way she lived. She possessed a compassionate heart, gentle strength, and a sincere desire to serve others. She quietly gave of herself to her neighbors, her community, her church, and especially her family, never needing recognition for the kindness she offered.

Throughout her life, Judy remained a faithful and devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Her relationship with her Heavenly Father was not simply something she professed; it was reflected in the way she loved, served, endured, and cared for those around her.

Judy leaves this earthly life having created something far more lasting than any possession, legacy of faith, family, devotion, and Christlike love. Her gentle influence will remain woven into the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

A Memorial Service honoring Judy's life will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in St. Maries, Idaho. All who knew and loved Judy are warmly invited to attend.
