Obituary of Randall M. Harpole

Randall M. Harpole (63) long-time resident of Calder, ID passed away on July 17, 2016 at Mountain Valley Nursing Home in Kellogg, ID. He was born to Melvin and Stella Harpole in Eugene, OR on April 11, 1953. Randy started grade school in Veneta, OR until the family relocated to Calder, ID in 1962. He attended grade school in Calder, ID and attended junior high and high school in St. Maries while he worked for Ling Moe at The Big Eddy Resort. Following high school, Randy went to work for Sindt Logging. During the summer of 1972, Randy married Sandra Long in St. Maries. The couple had 2 children, Mike and Raymon, and made their home in Calder, ID. The couple later divorced. Randy worked for Titus Logging, Shoshone County, and Harp Construction before starting his own business "Big Creek Construction". In 1981 he married Christy McCallum in Calder, ID, and they had a son Scott; however they later divorced. Randy met Carol Martin and they shared their lives together for 17 years. Randy injured his back while he was working, and his injury slowed him down just a little bit. Sadly, Randy found his health failing him which forced him into retirement. Randy enjoyed life! He enjoyed the great outdoors and loved snowmobiling, 4 wheeling, hunting, horses, fishing, camping, and drinking beer with his buddies. Randy loved listening to music, especially at his annual Big Creek party which was something he, his family, and all of his friends looked forward to attending. Randy is survived by his sons Mike (Billie) Harpole of Calder, ID, Raymon Harpole of Nacogdoches, TX, and Scott (Latisha) Harpole of Bend, OR. He is also survived by his brothers Mark (Crys) Harpole of Worley, ID, Doug Harpole of St. Maries, ID and sisters Linda (John) Whitehead, Suzy (Eddie) Epler of St. Maries, and twin sister Rhonda Jones of Post Falls, ID; 9 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents. A memorial service will be Friday July 22, 2016 11:00 am at the Eagles Lodge in St. Maries, ID. A gathering of family and friends to share a meal will follow.
