Obituary of Kathryn J. Huber

Kathryn Jean Huber, 67 of Saint Maries, Idaho, was born June 11, 1949 in Ogden, Utah, to Norma Pearl Miles and William Haney. She lost her battle with COPD due to a Heart Attack on November 22, 2016. Her last few weeks of life where spent at the Valley Vista Nursing Home in St. Maries, ID. Although she just wanted to go home the staff there made her feel at home and kept her comfortable. Siblings: Brothers: Ray Haney (Karol), Terry Haney, Rod Mollett (Janell), Tracey Olsen (Rose), Bill Haney Junior, Sisters: Sharon Faulk (Bud), Lynda Pym (Dan) Kathy went to school in Rathdrum and made her living as a bookkeeper and housekeeper. She was not one to stay in one place for long and moved back and forth between the Seattle area and Post Falls/Rathdrum area. In her last years she found St. Maries, Idaho as her final home were her and longtime partner in crime lived on the most beautiful piece of property. She enjoyed looking out her office window watching the birds, raccoons, deer and moose going about their daily business. Watching the river flow by and on occasion during the winter watching the barn flood due to ice jams that would break free up river. She shared her stories of life on the farm with friends and family on Facebook. (Her life line to world) Kathy had a good life; surrounded by a loving family who were always there for each other throughout life and at the end of her life. She had a loving husband who stood by her through thick and thin and he gave her the dream house she always wanted overlooking the mountains of Idaho where she loved to be the most. Kathy was wild and free spirited, beautiful inside and out. Her sense of humor was one of a kind (she could make a grown man blush). She loved dogs and Koi fish (they were her babies). Family Reunions were another favorite of hers – sharing stories of youth and remember when’s. Kathy wrote: I raised the best kids in the world! That makes me feel pretty special. She loved comedy, rock and roll and country music. I have the best family anyone could ask for! Her favorite quote was: live each day to the fullest while you are young. It’s over so fast! Her favorite character of all time was Betty Boop. Hobbies Facebook, playing Words with Friends (if you slacked on words with friends you would be on her list) and Slots (always asking for tokens), Kathy’s family was the most important part of her life. She married George Allen Tabish on November 9, 1963 and from that union were blessed with William Joseph, Georgia Jeanne and Deana Marie. They were later divorced and she married Jim Decker and out of that union were blessed with Shad Jeremy. They were later divorced. She married Dave Huber on December 14, 1982 and Shawn Hawker was added to the family. She is survived by her husband Dave Harold Huber of 34 years. Her children William (Billy) Joseph Tabish (Racquel), Georgia Tabish (Steve), Deana Gilpin (Eric), Shawn Hawker (Kellie), Shad Decker (Sarah). Grandchildren Jessica Bryner (Chris), Amanda Gilpin, Cassie Tabish, Josh Tabish, Katie Tabish, Tiffany Tabish, Zackary, Lauren and Shianne Decker, She has several great grandchildren. She was also survived by other family members and friends but are too numerous to count as she was so well loved. Pets: Tazzy and Skeeter Passing before her were her brother Terry Haney, father William Haney and mother Norma Pearl Miles and brother Rod Mollett. Kathy was loved by many people and will truly be missed and in honor of her wishes we will be celebrating her life with family and friends. Celebration will be held at the family bar - CJ’s Family Traditions in Rathdrum Idaho, on February 4, 2017 at 3:00 p.m. Please come and join in celebrating her life. Her ashes will be scattered on her property in Saint Maries and with her mother in the Pinegrove Cemetery in Rathdrum, Idaho.
