Obituary of Mary Virginia Heinze

Mary V. Heinze (87) resident of St. Maries, died Dec. 14, 2016 at Valley Vista Care Center in St. Maries. She was born July 30, 1929 to William and Alli Murray at Morgantown, WV. Mary grew up in Morgantown and left school early due to her mother’s illness. She helped by working on the family farm and raising her brothers and sisters. Mary married George Heinze Jr. on April 1, 1950 in Pennsylvania. She was a homemaker while her husband worked in the coal mines at Morgantown. She and her family moved to Butte, Mt in 1964. She continued to raise her family and worked as a nurse’s aide at a local nursing home. Her husband died in 1991. Mary continued working as a private nurse’s aide caring for people in their homes. She retired when she was 80 years old. She moved to St. Maries in June of 2014. Mary enjoyed square dancing and traveling. She was very good at sewing and making quilts. Mary enjoyed collecting dolls and had an extensive collection of china knick-knacks. She loved caring for others as a caregiver. She always remembered what her mother told her. “There is always good in everybody, no matter who they are”. Mary’s number one priority was her children and grandchildren and her many treasured friends including Delores Drew, Connie Kenney, Carol Zennie, Jeannie Moore, and the Neuman family. Mary is survived by her sons Raymond (Barbara) Heinze of St. Maries, Ronald (Jean) Heinze of Boise, ID and Donald (Fiina) Heinze of Butte, MT., her daughters Barbara Baker and Norma (Al) Baldwin all of St. Maries and her son-in-law George Baker Sr. of Butte, MT. Also surviving are her sister Ruby Austin and brother Tom Murray both of Morgantown, WV, 13 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband George, her four sisters, two brothers, her daughter Nancy Murray, and three grandsons. Mary will be laid to rest with her husband in Butte, MT where services will be held this coming spring, the date to be announced.
