Obituary of Michael J. Delany

 

Michael J. Delany (74) resident of Plummer, ID passed away at his home on November 25, 2018.  He was born to Rankin and Alma Delany on September 27, 1944 in Wallace, ID.  Michael grew up in Wallace, ID and enlisted in the US Marines at the age of 17.  He obtained his GED while he was serving.  After 4 years in the Marines, Mike was honorably discharged, and he moved to Seattle, WA.  On June 12, 1964 he married Judy Graham.  The couple made their home in Seattle. 

While in Seattle, Mike attended Seattle University where he graduated with Bachelor’s Degree.  He went to work for Boeing, and worked for them for 45 years before he retired in 1998.  Mike was a member and served various organizations over the years such as the Coast Guard Auxiliary, Elks Lodge, American Legion Post 69, DesMoines Lodge 245 A&F Mason, and he was a 32nd degree Mason serving Scottish Rite Bodies.  In his retirement, he and Judy relocated to Plummer, ID and would “Snow Bird” to Arizona and La Vegas during the winter months.

Mike considered himself a “High-Tech Redneck” who enjoyed working on computers and electronics.  He also enjoyed boating, fishing, water skiing, and was a world traveler. 

Mike is survived by his wife Judy at the family home in Plummer, ID; daughters Teri Delany of Plummer, ID, Mitra (Kurt) Christman of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, LeAnne Delany of Tacoma, WA, and Flo (Larry) Bosley-Lyons of Camino Island, WA; sister Pamela Tattrie of Seattle, WA; 11 grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild; numerous nieces and nephews.  He is preceded in death by his parents; brother Patrick Bruce Tattrie; and sister Kathleen Bracey.

A memorial service will be Friday, December 7, 2018 at 2:00 pm at the Elks Lodge in St. Maries, ID.  A potluck gathering of family and friends to share a meal will follow.
