Obituary of Christi Lee Baker
Christi Lee Baker (66) resident of St. Maries, ID died December 28, 2018 at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. She was born July 25, 1952 to Vestal and Barbara (Martin) Baker in Boise, ID.
Christi grew up in Boise and graduated from Borah High School with the class of 1970, where she played drums in the school band. Following her graduation she attended Boise State University for two years where she received her AA degree in drafting. Following her graduation, she moved to Salem, OR where she went to work for Youth with a Mission Program as a draftsman. She also worked in Bellevue, Washington for C.J. Designs as a draftsman. In the late 1980’s, Christi returned to Salem to continue her work with Youth with a Mission. She moved to St. Maries in 1991 after becoming disabled. She made her home in her mother’s apartments.
Christi enjoyed painting and working with pottery. As a young woman, Christi enjoyed riding horses with her sister. They rode in the Snake River Stampede in Boise. Christi attended Bible Study at the Community Presbyterian Church.
Christi is survived by her mother and step-father Barbara and Dr. Bob Magwire of St. Maries. Her sisters Joy Noel Baker of St. Maries and Brenda Kay Christiansen of Gresham, OR as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
