Obituary of Joan E. Wonser

Joan Elena Wonser was born on September 27, 1944 in Graceville, MN to Earl and Muriel Wonser. Joannie went to be with Jesus on February 13, 2019 while she was resting peacefully at Schneidmiller Hospice House in Coeur d’Alene, ID.  Joannie  was the youngest of four girls: Gail, Jean, Sharon and Joan. Joannie lived the majority of her life in St. Maries where she shared a home with her parents. She then moved to Valley Vista Care Center where she lived for many years. Joannie is remembered by sister, Gail Thorpe of Mt. View, CA and Sister Sharon Gay of Rathdrum, ID.  She was preceded in death by sister Jean Strom of Boise, ID.  Sharon Gay has been support extra-ordinaire since Joannie’s parents passed away. Joannie is also remembered by a beloved uncle, Bert Strom of Boise, ID and many cousins, nephews, nieces, great nephews and nieces and other family members. The staff at Valley Vista played a key role in Joannie’s life. They made Valley Vista Joannie’s home and cared for her like family. Our family is full of gratitude for the loving and caring part they played in Joannie’s life.

It is with sorrow and with thanksgiving that we say goodbye to our ‘happy go lucky’ Joannie. She was an angel in disguise.
