Gordon Page

Obituary of Gordon W. Page

Gordon W. Page “Bumpy” (77) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away on March 12, 2019 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He was born to Forrest and Iona Page on September 9, 1941 in Groton, VT. He grew up in Groton graduating from Groton High School with the class of 1959.  Following high school he married his high school sweetheart Sue Main.

Over the years Gordon worked several jobs.  He worked on his uncle’s farm, Tap & Dye, and CR Davidson Granite Sheds.  He attended Barber school in 1960, and cut hair for over 40 years.  He was self-employed running Gordon’s Barber Shop.  Gordon retired in 2006 and relocated to St. Maries to be closer to his family.  He and Sue later moved to Cottonwood, AZ where he managed a mobile home park and loved it.  Over the years, the couple moved back and forth from St. Maries to Arizona to Vermont.  In 2014 they permanently made St. Maries, ID their home.  Gordon was a member of the Pulaski Lodge #42 Masons, he served as Fire Chief for many years in Vermont, member of the Christian Motorcycle Club, and was a member of American Legion Post #25 in St. Maries.

Gordon was always up for an adventure, and he loved traveling.  He also enjoyed shooting guns, snow mobile riding, golfing, family time, and riding his Honda Goldwing all over the United States with Sue on the back.  He had several toys and loved to play!  He was also a handy man who flipped houses for most of his life.  Gordon loved all of his grandchildren, but Logan and Bumpy were best buds.  Gordon looked forward to working on projects with Logan or going for rides in his logging truck.  Bumpy has had many friends over the years, and his family is pretty sure several of them are rejoicing with him in heaven.

Gordon is survived by his wife Sue at the family home; daughter Melissa (Dirk) Mauro of St. Maries, ID; son Steve Page of Phoenix, AZ; brother Howard (Patty) Page of Ryegate Corner, VT; grandchildren Dustyn Thomas, Logan Thomas, and Kaylin (Levi) Robinson all of St. Maries, ID and Christian Page of New Hampshire; great-grandchildren Parker Thomas, Madeline Grieser, Bently Robinson, Piper Thomas, Kimberlynn Robinson, and another great-grandchild on the way all of St. Maries, ID.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his siblings Carwin Page, and Donald Page.
