Obituary of Amanda Ellen Scott
Amanda Ellen Scott (29) resident of Fernwood, ID passed away at Kootenai Health in Coeur d’ Alene, ID on March 11, 2019. She was born to Christopher Brown and Patty Piersall on September 1, 1989 in Redmond, OR. Amanda grew up in the Newberg, OR attending school at Newburg Elementary and McMinnville High School.
In 2012, Amanda moved to St. Maries, ID where she went to work for Valley Vista Care Center. It was there she obtained her CNA. She returned to Oregon and sold cars for the Ford dealership in Tigard, OR. In 2015 Amanda returned to the St. Maries-Fernwood area. She worked at Emerald Creek Garnet in Sales, Wells Fargo as a Teller, and most recently Bud McCall’s shop in Fernwood where she would run for parts and pick on all of the employees. Amanda had actually tossed up the idea of becoming a Funeral Director/Mortician, as the career ran in her family, and she had the opportunity to job shadow at Hodge Funeral Home for a brief time. Living in Fernwood, Amanda served as a care giver to some of the residents upriver, and she loved doing so.
Later 2015 Amanda met the love of her life Brian Peters. He noticed her when she was singing Karaoke, and her veil of long blonde hair was all he could see on the stage. She literally had him at hello, and they were perfect for one another. Together they enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, horn hunting, hiking, fishing (specifically bass fishing), and attending concerts with one another. One of Amanda’s greatest passions was music, and she loved sharing that passion with her daughter Brianna. She loved spoiling Brianna, and loved the dance parties they shared, slumber parties, and singing in the living room. Her music genre was rather rounded listening to Frank Sinatra, Elvis, and more current music. Other things she enjoyed were bonfires, cooking, and birthday cake ice cream. Amanda was a ray of sunshine that loved living life. Her spunkiness, love, and sense of humor will be missed by all of her family and friends.
Amanda is survived by her mother Patty Piersall of La Pine, OR; her fathers Chris Brown of Astoria, OR, Jerry (Sam) Piersall of St. Maries, ID, and Jim Scott of Redmond, OR; love of her life Brian Peters and daughter Brianna of Fernwood, ID; mother in-law Connie Kirkella of Fernwood, ID; brothers Anthony (Priscilla) Scott of La Pine, OR, Wesley (Krista) Scott of Newberg, OR, Jacob Brown of North Carolina, Dylan Brown of Chehalis, WA, Dalton Brown of Chehalis, WA, and Wyatt Piersall of St. Maries, ID. Also surviving are her grandparents Richard and Pat Lane of Redmond, OR; grandfather Ron Hyde of Fernwood, ID; grandmother Mary Docherty of Astoria, OR; aunt and uncle Linda and Walt Madsen of Prineville, OR; and uncles Richard Williams of Culver, OR and Jim Piersall of Silverton, OR.
A memorial service will be Saturday March 23, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Elks Lodge in St. Maries, ID. A gathering of family and friends will follow to share a meal.
