Obituary of Robin A. Foster
Robin A. Foster (88) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away on April 17, 2019. She was born to John and Hazel Thomas on August 7, 1930 in Asotin, WA. She grew up in Asotin and graduated high school there with the class of 1948. Following high school, Robin attended LCSC. To get to her classes, she would roller skate from Asotin to Lewiston.
Robin relocated to Spangle, WA where she taught school. She met and married Leo Foster. The couple lived on and worked numerous cattle ranches in Oregon and Idaho. They later moved to Lewiston, ID where Robin became a home maker and took care of her children, and went to work at the nursing home. Leo and Robin divorced in 1971, and she stayed in Lewiston until 1979 when she relocated with friends and daughter Diane to Glennallen, AK. Robin ran a rural mail route, and lived in Alaska for 20 years. She decided it was time to move to Idaho; however she went on a 3 month trip of a lifetime traveling from coast to coast. Robin loved taking in the sights on both coasts, the Redwood Forest, Mt. Rushmore, the Great Lakes, and New York. After her return from her road trip, she went to Twin Falls, ID briefly before moving to St. Maries, ID. Friends and the area brought her to St. Maries.
Robin enjoyed reading and was very passionate about birds. She loved feeding them and watching them often dragging out her books and calendar to document what she had seen. She loved to bake and was known for her delicious bread and pie crust.
Robin is survived by her daughters Dawn Wilson of Boise, ID, Cindy Thompson and Diane Davis both of St. Maries, ID; sister and sister Birdie Jensen of Lewiston, ID; 5 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents; her children Debbie Foster and Hal Foster; and brothers Glen Clarneau and Richard Rivers.
