Obituary of Dave Heiberger
Dave Heiberger, 75, passed away May 11, 2019 at Valley Vista care Center in St. Maries, Idaho, where he had resided for the past few years.
Dave was born, December 17, 1943 to Leo and Patricia Heiberger, in Billings, Montana and grew up in Shepherd, Big Timber and Philipsburg. He graduated from Philipsburg High School.
In 1965 he married Evalina Kolbeck and they had two children together. They later divorced.
Much of Dave’s career was spent as a logger. For a period of time he also managed the Lolo Trail Creek Ranch outside of Lolo, MT. Due to physical ailments from earlier logging accidents Dave was forced to retire.
In 1989 Dave participated in the Centennial Cattle Drive from Roundup to Billings; an event he thoroughly enjoyed being a part of, and loved to talk about. He also enjoyed logging events, rodeos (especially NFR) and taking drives.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and his son.
He is survived by his daughter, Marilyn (Greg) Hill of Milltown, MT and grandchildren, Taylor (Brooke) and Talley (Todd) of Missoula, MT; sister Frances (Arnie) Ler of Whitehall, MT and nieces, Melissa Biggs (Gary) and Jaime Bodle and her daughter Dominique of Wasilla, AK.
Cremation has taken place, and per Dave’s wishes there will be no services.
