Obituary of Jerry Andy Anderson

Jerry "Andy" Anderson (71) lifetime Fernwood area resident, died March 17, 2013 at Hospice House of North Idaho following a courageous 3 year battle with cancer. He was born November 21, 1941 to Earl and Marie (Monson) Anderson at Spokane, WA. He grew up in Fernwood and graduated from St. Maries High School with the Class of 1959. Jerry enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1960 and was stationed in Hawaii. He was honorably discharged in 1962 and returned to Fernwood. He married Geraldine St. George in 1963. He began working for Bud McCall Logging before going to work for the St. Maries Complex of Potlatch Corp. In the 1970's, he went to work for Emerald Creek Garnet Co. Jerry started his own logging company in the early 1980's and it was called Jerry Anderson Logging where he worked as a Gypo logging contractor. He was divorced in 1984. Jerry married Sandra Montee on Aug. 1, 1986 at Coeur d' Alene, ID. They made their home in Fernwood where he continued his logging business until 2006. He purchased a backhoe and dump truck and worked for the Fernwood Water and Sewer District as a contractor installing hook-ups and repairing damaged lines. Illness forced him to retire earlier this year. Jerry enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking long drives. He especially enjoyed spending time with his Lab's Misty and Mazen. Jerry is survived by his wife Sandy at the family home in Fernwood. Also surviving are his son David Montee of Lovelock, NV, his daughter and son-in-law Alisa and David Stone of Moscow, ID and daughter Danyel Duncan of Kellogg, ID. Also surviving are brothers and sisters-in-laws James and Cathy Anderson of Fernwood and Bobby and Gayle Anderson of Boise, ID. His sister Sally Bohn of Hayden, ID and Sister and brother-in-law Nancy and Johnny Louie of Williams Lake, B.C. Jerry is also survived by 7 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be Saturday, March 23, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Riverside Cemetery, Santa, ID followed by a Celebration of his life at 12:00 p.m. at the Fernwood Community Church with Pastor Brian Primer officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow services at the C.A.F. Bldg. At 1:00 p.m. In Fernwood. The family suggests memorials to Hospice House of North Idaho 2290 W.
