Obituary of Donald James Janson

Donald James Janson (49) resident of Plummer, ID passed away at Kootenai Health on December 28, 2019. He was born on December 31, 1970 in Spokane, WA to Donald and Christina (Cox) Janson. Donald attended school in Plummer, ID and graduated from Plummer High School with the class of 1989. Prior to graduating, Donald enlisted into the U.S. Navy and shipped out days after graduation. He was stationed at Pearl Harbor where he met SueAnn Machica. It was love at first sight, and the couple married on September 22, 1990 in Hawaii. Later his pride and joy daughter Leilani was born. After Donald was honorably discharged from the Navy, he and his family returned to Plummer. He went to work for Dalco Construction, and attended North Idaho College in their Auto Body program. Donald obtained his certification when he completed the program. He then went to work at Pacific Crown and through the acquisition of the mill, Rayonier Mill. After the mill fire at Rayonier, Donald went to work for the Fiber Board Plant next door. He took on side construction jobs, and eventually went to work for Tribal Housing. Donald enjoyed his Westerns and taking drives on the back roads listening to music. He was a big fan of the 80’s hair bands! He also enjoyed watching the Seahawks play. He was a talented mechanic, but had a love-hate relationship when it came to working on cars. Donald is survived by his wife SueAnn Janson at their home in Worley; daughter Leilani Janson of Worley; sisters and brothers in–law Dee and Jeff Allen of Plummer and Charlie and Tracey Way of Plummer. Also surviving are 3 grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents Don and Chris Janson.
