Obituary of Marc William Grubham

Marc William Grubham (29) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away on March 28, 2020. He was born to Rob and Tracie (Totten) Grubham on September 9, 1990 in St. Maries, ID. Marc grew up in St. Maries and will always be remembered as a talented athlete who lived for sports. He lettered in 3 sports 12 times in high school. If he wasn’t playing school ball, he was playing club ball in all sports. Sports were a year-round event for him, and his family enjoyed watching him perform as they were very proud of him. Marc graduated from St. Maries High School with the class of 2009. Following high school, Marc had a few opportunities to attend college on baseball scholarships. He ended up turning them down, and he enlisted into the U.S. Army. Marc attended boot camp at Fort Knox in Kentucky. He was a Calvary Scout with B-Troop, 7-10 cav, 1/4ID and was stationed in Colorado Springs, CO. 2010-2011 Marc served in Bala Murghab Badghis, Afghanistan. Before returning to Colorado Springs where he was honorably discharged. Once again, he made his family proud obtaining a global war on terrorism service medal, a combat action badge, national defense service medal, two campaign stars, and many other medals, ribbons and badges for his service. Once Marc was honorably discharged, he attended Pikes Peak Community College in Colorado Springs in their Criminal Justice program. For a time, Marc moved around the Northwest before he returned to St. Maries, ID in 2017. Marc went to work at Potlatch Corporation where he held many different labor and operating positions. He loved learning; therefore, he learned many jobs in the plywood mill. Marc’s greatest passion was the outdoors and sharing his love of the outdoors with his friends. He introduced several friends and his young siblings to this lifestyle. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, scouting, and guiding friends who were new to the area. Marc also enjoyed attending Oregon Ducks games with his best friend and watching the Philadelphia Eagles play on TV. Marc is survived by his parents Rob Grubham of Libby, MT and Tracie (Keith) Babor of Coeur d’ Alene, ID; siblings Trinda Babor (Andrew Riordan) of Raleigh, NC, Amber Grubham of Libby, MT, Jax Babor of Charlotte, NC, Jake Babor of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, Deric Bradbury of Tillamook, OR, Brooklyn Babor of Coeur d’ Alene, ID, and Nathan Babor of Coeur d’ Alene, ID; great-grandmother June Roose of Eureka, MT; grandparents Harry and Pam Grubham of St. Maries, ID and Shirley Totten of Eureka, MT; aunts and uncles Jaci (Dean) Short, Tim (Carey) Grubham, Tara Totten, Kevin Haughten, Kevin Naylor, and Amy Sines; niece Chloe Carpenter and nephew Jonathan Elliot of Libby MT; numerous cousins; and his best friend and fur baby Reaper. He is preceded in death by his grandfather Clifton Totten. Interment services for Marc will be Friday, July 10, 2020 at 11:00 am at Woodlawn Cemetery in St. Maries. Full military honors will be presented. A memorial service will follow at Noon at the Nazarene Church in St. Maries. Following the memorial service, a gathering of family and friends to share a meal will be at the Elks Lodge in St. Maries, ID. .
