Mrs Darter has always been in my memory as my favorite teacher. I still remember many of the books we read freshman year (70's), in her class and journaling my thoughts for the first time. I particularly remember in Drama Class I observed from a distance how she tried so hard to included a "troubled teen" and though he didn't show up, I am sure he knew she really cared. I send prayers to her family and friends. May you be comforted knowing how loved and admired she was by so very many throughout their life.

Martha was one of my favorite teachers. She encouraged me to read, and to write. I always felt she had my back. Her husband, Don, also was my teacher in high school. The two of them sure did a lot of good here in our community! I will miss them both. Jodi, my thoughts and prayers are with you and yours as you suffer through this tremendous loss. It is only temporary, Jodi. You will see her again!

So sorry for your loss, Martha was a very special person both as a teacher and as a person. I remember her english class in high school as being fun but you could tell she loved the subject and passed that on to the students. I also remember hearing a hecky darn or too. Getting to know her over the years after school she was a fun and a caring person who loved her family and was always a brighter day when you were around her. Our prayers and love are with you Bunky, Jodie and Jess.
