Obituary of Milo Frank Obiden

It is with a heavy heart that our sweet Uncle and Brother Milo (Milty) Frank Obiden Jr. (88) has left us one final time. A longtime resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at his home on November 20, 2020. He was born to Milo and Katherine (Sarac) Obiden on August 10, 1932 in Marenisco, MI. Milo grew up and graduated from high school in Marenisco with the class of 1950. Following high school, he joined the US Air Force and was stationed in the Philippine Islands as an airplane mechanic. In 1954 he was honorably discharged, and he returned to Michigan. He worked for the Gogebic County in a fire tower as a watchman. In 1958, Milo moved to St. Maries, ID. He went to work for St. Maries Lumber Company after the mill was destroyed by a fire. He went to work for the Carpenters Local 59 out of Coeur d’ Alene in 1967. They sent him throughout the Pacific Northwest to work in construction. Milo officially retired in 1997. Uncle Milo loved the St. Maries area enjoyed taking rides up the St. Joe, hunting, hiking, and visiting with his Nephews Ryan (Susan), Bud (Deb) Harris, his Nieces Tempi Harris, and Betty (Steven) Snyder. He was an avid hunter and enjoyed the outdoors. Most people will remember him for his generosity. He made sure some of the elderly in the St. Maries community had their meat for the winter. Milo is survived by his siblings Betty Biondich of Menominie, WI, Katherine Doyle of Holt, MI, Mathew Obiden of Marquette, MI, Rosalyn Boyer of Alpena, MI, Antonia Obajdin Therrian (Bruce) of Grand Ledge, MI, Brother-in-Law CJ Harris of Nampa, ID, and numerous nieces and nephews.
