Obituary of Ronald A. Main

Ronald Allen Main (78) resident of Emida, ID died May 26, 2013 at his home in Emida, ID following an 8 year battle with cancer. He was born March 15, 1935 to Jesse and Katherine (Reber) Maine at Custer So. Dakota. Ron's mother died when he was 11 days old and he was raised by his grandparents Ambrose and Laura L (Boyle) Maine. He moved with them to Nebraska and from there to Payette, ID in 1943. He served in the Idaho National Guard for several years. Ron worked on farms in So. Idaho. He had a marriage to Laura, the mother of children Ronnie and Phyliss and later to Bonnie the mother of son Allen. Ron and his brother Lyle moved to Santa Fe, CA in 1955 and worked in a lumber mill before moving to McCall, ID where he continued to work in a lumber mill. He moved to Boise, ID in the 1980's and worked as a truck driver for 7 years. He moved to Hartford, KS in 1994 and drove a grain truck. Dec. 22, 1997, he married Loretta Karp at Marysville, KS. In 1999, Ron and Loretta moved to Phoenix, AZ where he worked for a Chevrolet dealer delivering car parts. He retired in 2005 and moved to Emida, ID. Ron enjoyed traveling to the Clearwater Crossing R.V. Park at Orofino, ID. He enjoyed watching the men fishing on the river. He also enjoyed traveling to McCall, ID and Boise, ID to go fishing with family members. Ron is survived by his wife Loretta at the family home in Emida. His son's Ronnie Main of Hawthorne, NV., and Allen Main of McCall, daughter Phyliss Shinn of Wichita, KS, step-sons Edward Dwyer of Meridian, ID, Steven Dwyer of Phoenix, AZ and step-daughters Renee Smally of Emida, Id and Mary Lou of Boise, ID. Also surviving are brothers Jessie and Lyle Main both of Orofino, ID , Richard Main of Lewiston, ID and Darrell Main of Glenns Ferry, ID. And Keith Main of Oregon. Sisters Virginia Anderson and Merna Shaw both of Oregon. 18 grand children, 26 great grand children and 2 great great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and step-mother Elvira Buffington Main, Sisters Dolly, Darlene, Beverly, Valerie and Baby Jane. Brothers Lloyd and Denny Main. A celebration of his life will be Saturday, June 15, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at the Emida Non-denominational Church at the Emida Comm. Center with Pastor Parker McNeill officiating. Another memorial service will be held on June 30th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Stan Walker officiating, at the Clearwater Crossing R.V. Park 500 River Front Rd., Orofino, ID 83544.
