Obituary of Norma J. Bennett

Norma Jane Cimmiyotti Bennett was born Feb 1, 1949 in The Dalles, OR. Our dear Norma went to be with our Lord and Savior on April 25th, surrounded by family. She was loved and will be missed by many. Norma was a longtime resident of St. Maries and donated much of her time and love to the Human Society. Norma loved spending time in her garden, growing vegetables, and tending to the flower gardens scattered around her home. Horseback riding and horse training was also a favorite activity of hers. She had an amazing ability to add a beautiful touch to her surroundings. She was an independent woman who raised 5 strong, accomplished children. She was admired by many. Norma solo-hiked, camped and adventured throughout Alaska and traveled to Australia, New Zealand, and Japan in her years prior to starting a family. Being raised on a farm, her time was filled with tending animals, rattlesnake wrangling and tree climbing. Norma loved to be outside, was an avid reader and enjoyed expressing herself artistically. Family history as well as extended family relationships were very special to her. Norma is survived by her loving husband Jim, daughter Tara/Brent, daughter Carrie, son Tygh/Aimee, daughter Jolene/Andy and son Wade. 15 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren brothers Bob/Sue and Dean/Judy. Her example will continue on through many family members. A Memorial Mass will be Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00 am at St. Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in St. Maries. A gathering of family and friends will take place following services at the Benedictine Hall. Memorial contributions in Norma's honor can be made to the Benewah Humane Society.
