Even though I hadn’t seen you in forever, I will miss you.
You were my mail lady, my mom’s friend, and even my flower girl at my wedding! I will treasure the memory of you standing there next to me in the reception line! Smiling with your basket of flowers just like you said you would be! That was so great!!! I should have listened to your marriage advice, but things worked out in the end. I don’t think I ever said it to you, but seeing your mail truck parked along the highway and having you there at my dad’s service meant a lot to me. You were a true friend. Fly high sweet lady!

I remember Mailbag delivering mail to our house on what is now called Crosby Road and also to my granddad, Charlie Gray, who worked at the post office in Fernwood with Butch. She was a sweet lady. Rest in Peace Mailbag.

I was so sad to read that Helen had passed. I have wonderful memories of her from back in the old Mike's Drug days. She was so much fun and a dear friend. I remember riding with her on her mail route! I moved away for a long time and we lost touch. But when I moved home, we still stopped for a quick chat when we saw each other other out and about. I loved her, and I'm so sorry for her family's loss. They meant the world to her. Rest in peace my friend. Hope you can polka in heaven.

I was privileged to know Helen my entire 29 year career at the post office. Whenever she discovered a new snack or candy she would bring me a sample to turn me on to her "find". We shared a love of licorice and this Easter I will eat a whole bag of black jelly bean eggs in her honor! She was so proud of those grandkids and loved them to the "moon and back". All my love to her family. Rest in peace "mailbag", I will miss you.

Helen was as faithful, loyal, and dependable as the day is long! Loved by so many, her “Never Give Up” - “Can Do” spirit truly was an inspiration! I count myself blessed to be part of that group. Once the first tears passed after hearing of Helen's passing the sweet memories started tumbling through my mind. I remembered my dad giving us a nickel for picking grass for the chickens, the many sleepovers at our house back in Killdeer with Helen and I sharing a bed - Helen was six and I was a big nine! We were like sisters through the years. We dropped in and out of each others lives then would meet and pick up as if we had never parted. Helen Mae I will miss you dearly.
