Obituary of Carol M. McKee

Carol M. McKee (90) resident of St. Maries, ID died June 26, 2013 at Kootenai Medical Center in Coeur d' Alene. She was born February 16, 1923 to Carl and Joella (Hodgson) Golder at North Bend, OR. Carol grew up in North Bend and graduated from Marshfield High School with the class of 1941. She married Homer McKee in 1943 at North Bend. Carol lived in several communities on the Oregon coast. She was a stay at home mom and raised her sons. She moved to Santa Rosa , CA. In 1954 . In the early 1960's , Carol became a dance instructor specializing in Ball Room dancing.. Carol also worked as a dietician for the local hospital. She and her husband owned and operated several laundromats in the Santa Rosa area. She and her husband retired in 1983 and moved to Mountain Ranch , CA. Her husband died in 1987. In 1998, Carol moved in with her son Monta at Coeur d' Alene, ID. They lived in Fernwood before purchasing their residence on Alder Creek, near St. Maries. Carol enjoyed music and lived for her two sons. She was a member of the St. Maries Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. She is survived by son Monte K. McKee of St. Maries and Russel J. McKee of Stockton, Ca. Also surviving are her brother Lee Golder of North Bend, OR, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by brothers Carl and George Golder and sister Chery Owens. She will be buried in Sunset Memorial Park, Near North Bend, OR at a later date this month.
