Obituary of Jill Perkins

Jill L. Perkins (62) resident of St. Maries, ID and formerly Pendleton, OR resident died July 22, 2013 at Coeur d' Alene, ID. She was born June 12, 1951 to Elden and Eileen (Sperry) Padberg at Heppner, OR. Jill grew up at Lexington, OR and graduated from Heppner High School with the Class of 1969. Following her graduation, she attended Oregon State University. In the early 1980's, Jill completed her undergraduate studies at Eastern Oregon State University. In 1984, she went to work for the Pendleton School District teaching in elementary education. She worked at Hawthorne and later, Washington Elementary schools. In 1995, Jill attended the University of Idaho and studied counseling. Two years later, she returned to Pendleton to continue teaching. She retired in 2003 and moved to St. Maries, ID the following year. Jill enjoyed art work and was a member of St. Maries Council for the Arts. She also enjoyed sewing, quilting and craftwork. She was also a member of the Benewah Co. Humane Society and the Oregon Education Assn. Jill is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Brandon and Holly Perkins of Grants Pass, OR and her brother Lee Padberg and his family of Seattle, WA. Jill is also survived by three grandchildren and her Cousin Deanne Hawks of St. Maries. A celebration of her life will be Saturday July 27, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at the Eagles Lodge in Pendleton, OR.
