Ella Rae was the only real southern belle that I had the pleasure of knowing. I first met her when I was only 11 years old. She was my neighbor on Renfro Creek Road where I grew up. After her husband, Rodney, passed away I would frequently go to visit her and her fur baby, Prissie. She was always so nice to me and would always make sure there was lemonade and cookies. We moved away when I was in highschool but I would always make sure when we came back I would stop by and visit them. I loved Prissie so much that I ended up getting my own Shih Tzu. After I was married, I moved back to Santa and it was then that Ella Rae would leave her precious fur baby with me while she and Cy would travel during the winter months. Ella Rae would send a Christmas packages for Prissie, my dog and myself. Ella Rae was the most kind lady I have ever had the opportunity to know. I was very saddened to hear the news of her passing. I will treasure the memories of her and Prissie. Furever in my heart - Inga McCarter (Short)
