Obituary of Margie J. McGuire

Margie J. McGuire (92) resident of St. Maries, ID died July 26, 2013 at St. Maries. She was born August 22, 1920 to Patrick and Josie (Cross) Flannery at Poteau, OK. Margie grew up in Poteau, OK. and as a young woman, she helped raise her siblings at home while her mother worked full time. She married Edward McGuire in 1943 at Midland, TX. They made their home in Cottonwood, ID before moving to Texas to take care of her grandmother. In the late 1950's, Margie returned to Cottonwood, ID. and also lived in Clarkston, WA. and Plummer, ID. where her husband's employment took the family. Wherever the family lived, Margie raised her family and supported the family income working as a short order cook. In 1980, Margie returned to Clarkston, WA. and received Nurses Aide training. Her husband died in 1981. She worked as a nurses aide for a Clarkston nursing home. Margie also supplemented her income operating a day care facility. She moved to St. Maries, ID. In July of 2010. Margie was a member of the Baptist faith. She was an avid gardener and loved crocheting, sewing and horseback riding. She was a wonderful cook and loved her family. Margie is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law Edward R. and Janet McGuire of St. Maries and Daniel D. and Jean McGuire of Sandpoint, ID. Also surviving are her daughter and son-in-law Mary F. and James Pezzoli of Lewiston, ID. 11 grandchildren 14 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren , 3 nieces and 1 nephew. Margie was preceded in death b daughters Janet M. White in 1991 and Barbara L. Williams-Coch in 2010.
