Obituary of LeRoy Adams

Oris "LeRoy" Adams (75) longtime resident of St. Maries, ID died August 1, 2013 at his home following a 3 year battle with cancer. He was born July 19, 1938 to Oris and Edith (Cain) Adams at Trout Lake, WA. LeRoy grew up with his siblings in Idaho and Washington, where ever his father's work took the family. He graduated from Clearwater Valley High School at Stites, ID with the class of 1956. Following graduation, LeRoy went to work for a mill at Harpster, ID. He married June Graham on June 19, 1959 at Grangeville, ID. He moved to St. Maries, ID in 1967 and went to work for the St. Maries Complex of Potlatch Corp. He worked as a Edger operator and retired from the mill in 2002. His wife died in 2010. LeRoy's hobbies included working with model trains, photography and gun collecting. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family. He was a member of the St. Maries Assembly of God Church. LeRoy is survived by his Mother Edith Adams of Nine Mile Falls, WA. Also surviving are his daughters and sons in law Shawn and Creig Hixson, Shelley and Steve Lundt and Kim and Calvin Overacker all of St. Maries, ID. His brothers Larry Adams of Rathdrum, ID and Richard Adams of Harpster, ID. His sisters Nancy MacPherson of Nine Mile Falls, WA, Karen Adams of Spokane, WA. and Rosemary Agee of Grangeville, ID. LeRoy is also survived by 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Viewing will be Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Hodge Funeral Home. Graveside services will be Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Woodlawn Cemetery, St. Maries ID with Pastor Lynn Peters officiating. A gathering of family and friends will follow services at the St. Maries Assembly of God Church 421 S. 23rd.
