Obituary of Brian Arthur Hodgson
Brian Arthur Hodgson (46) resident of the Benewah passed away at his home on June 13, 2022. He was born to Kenneth and Bonnie (Capparelli) Hodgson on April 15, 1976, in Coeur d’ Alene, ID. Brian grew up in Post Falls and Plummer, ID. He graduated from Lakeside High School with the class of 1994.
Following high school, Brian went to work in the woods with his grandfather logging. He also worked at his family’s mill in the Benewah Valley, chased cattle for John Hodgson, performed masonry work with his brother in-law, and was a mechanic for Lowry Trucking. Although talented at almost everything he did, he was a master mechanic. He could mechanic on vehicles, trucks, and equipment. Brian made sure his family was taken care of fixing their vehicles and cutting and gathering firewood.
After spending 11 years together, Brian married the love of his life Alice Galler on December 10, 2021, in DeSmet, ID. They shared a beautiful life together and like any marriage they had their pros and cons that they had with one another. Brian wrote a list and kept it in his wallet. He wrote, (Pros) I love coming home, she’s happy, I love dinner, I love holding her and love her holding me, she believes in me, we both love being together, my house is clean, my clothes are clean. I love her, she is a great woman, she’s honest, love that. He only had one con and that was, and he wrote, she won’t shut up.
July 4th was Brian’s favorite holiday, and he loved shooting off his cannon and buying fireworks for all the children. He also enjoyed camping, traveling and soaking in the Symes Hot Springs, hunting, hanging out with his friends (he specifically enjoyed being part of the Weasel Patrol “security” at the annual Fletcher Party), and taking 4-wheeler rides. Brian had a huge heart, a lot of patience, and would do anything for anyone.
