Obituary of Wilma L. Murray
Wilma L. Murray (85) resident of Santa, ID passed away at her home on September 11, 2022. She was born on February 21, 1937, in Pittsburgh, PA. At the age of 14 she left home with her boyfriend Earl Willard and ended up in the Reno, NV area. At the age of 16, Wilma married Earl and they eventually ended up in Dallas, OR. In 1961 Earl passed away.
Wilma raised her children by herself. She worked as a tax consultant, meat wrapper, and other various jobs to support her family. On February 8, 1982, she met Terry Murray and had an instant love and connection. They married on December 4, 1982, in Dallas, OR. She continued working until she retired in the mid 1990’s.
After visiting friends in the St. Maries area in 1998, Wilma and Terry bought a place sight unseen. They instantly fell in love with the area and moved to Santa in 2001. Wilma enjoyed spending time at her home with her 4-legged children and her husband. She also enjoyed exploring the mountains, and she was blessed with a green thumb. Outspoken at times, Wilma was a very loving and caring person. She was a member of the American Legion Post 25 Ladies Auxiliary.
A private gathering will be held at a later date. Wilma will be laid to rest at her family’s plot in McMinnville, OR. Memorials may be sent to American Legion Post 25, PO Box 234, St. Maries, ID 83861.
