Obituary of Keith D. Washburn

Keith D. Washburn (75) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at his home on September 12, 2022.  He was born to George and Delois (Bryant) Washburn on January 21, 1947, in Boise, ID.  Keith attended Nampa High School and graduated with the class of 1965.  He furthered his education and earned a Bachelor’s Degree from University of Idaho in Forestry; however he never utilized his degree and worked for the college for years in Maintenance.

Keith ended up in St. Maries, ID at the Lincoln Terrace Apartments several years ago.  It was here he met many friends, and he was adored by every one of them.  Keith took pride in his home and was often seen taking care of the grounds to make the place look beautiful.  He loved his indoor and outdoor plants – he even used to have prize winning Orchids and several cactus plants, but most of all he loved his precious cat.  At one time he cared for two stray cats that made their home by his front door.  Keith was a private and quiet man, but once he warmed up to you, you made a friend for life.  He was a kind and generous person, helping neighbors and friends with anything they needed.  Even his mail carriers would look up to see him there.  One of his favorite pastimes was sharing the Gazette on Wednesday with anyone that wanted to catch up on the local gossip.  Keith was an excellent cook, and would often invite his downstairs neighbor for dinner, an invitation she never turned down.  Keith will be missed by all who knew him.
