Obituary of Lucille Mae Stockdale

Lucille Mae Stockdale (85) resident of Plummer, ID died September 15, 2013 at her home following a heart attack. She was born May 31, 1928 to Rudolph and Blanche (Hooker) Rudd at Bridger, MT. Lucille grew up near Cataldo, ID and Rathdrum, ID. She graduated from Rathdrum High School with the class of 1946. Following high school, Lucille worked for Y-J Packing Company in Coeur d'Alene. She married Orace Chambard in 1948 at Coeur d' Alene. They operated a dairy farm at Cataldo, ID and Harrison Flats, ID. They were divorced in 1960. Lucille married Ralph Stockdale in 1961. They made their home at Plummer where she was a homemaker and raised her family. Her husband died in 1979. In 1981 Lucille began working for both the Western Benewah School District in the cafeteria and Leo's Worley Club. Other places Lucille worked included the Bargain Barn, Adeline's Smoke Shop, The Homestead Café, and the Plummer Senior Citizens. Lucille enjoyed crocheting, sewing and making quilts. She also enjoyed gardening and caring for her livestock. She was an avid reader of Westerns and was a member of the National Rifle Association. Lucille is survived by her sons and daughters-in-laws Terry and Fran Chambard, and Tim and Karyn Stockdale and daughter and son-in-law Peggy and Scott Manes, all of Plummer, ID. Also surviving are her brother Ted Wright of Lewiston, ID, 6 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. Graveside services will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Evergreen Cemetery, Plummer, ID with Pastor Don Cambra officiating.
