Obituary of Margaret Donna Nelson

Margaret Donna Nelson (31) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away on May 15, 2023, in Lewiston, ID.  She was born to Jim and Pamela Nelson on September 11, 1991, in Spokane, WA.  Maggie grew up in Hauser Lake, ID and attended Lakeland High School.

Having an adventurous spirit, Maggie enjoyed hanging out on the lake and all the activities the water had to offer.  She worked at various different places.  In 2006 she moved to Anaconda, MT where she met Alex Skoglund.  She came as a package deal with her son Caleb, and Alex and Maggie had their son Tanner.  They briefly shared a life together and Maggie stayed home to take care of her children.  Maggie then moved to St. Maries to be near her parents.  She met Devin Vint, and they had their son Hunter; although Devin treated all of her children as if they were his own.  Maggie worked at IGA and the Pines Motel to help support her little family.  Sadly, Maggie lost her son Tanner in January of 2022, and her heart was broken. 

Maggie enjoyed everything outdoors.  From mountain tops to lakes and rivers, she found any reason to go spend time in nature.  Most importantly, she loved her family and her children with all of her heart.

Maggie is survived by her children Caleb Nelson and Hunter Vint of St. Maries; father Jim Nelson of St. Maries; siblings Shannon (Mark) Minehan of Minnesota, Tyler Nelson of Anaconda, MT and Kimberly (Mark) Hanna of Coeur d’ Alene, ID; several nieces and nephews.  She is preceded in death by her mother Pamela Nelson and her son Tanner Skoglund. 

A private family gathering will be held at a later date.
