Phyllis Jean Wentzel (79) resident of St. Maries, ID passed away at Benewah Community Hospital on June 1, 2023.  She was born to Ernest and Mary (Williams) Blake on December 10, 1943 in Tulare, CA.  Phyllis grew up in Crescent City, CA and graduated from High School there with the class of 1961. 

Following high school, Phyllis married Torrence Wentzel in Crescent City, and they lived there for 4 years before moving to the Benewah Valley near St. Maries, ID in 1966.  Phyllis was a home maker all of her life, sadly in 1996 Torrence died.

Phyllis was an avid reader who also enjoyed sewing.  She had a green thumb and will be remembered for the big gardens she grew and her talent for canning all of her bounty.
